Ms. Sheen is a wonderful piano teacher. Our son started learning with her about a year ago and has grown tremendously in this time both in terms of technique and theory. He really looks forward to his classes every week and is happy practicing the pieces that Ms. Sheen and he pick out to learn. He also participated in the Music Festival earlier this year and did extremely well under her guidance. She is very enthusiastic and patient and takes the time to work with our son on pieces he enjoys but also challenges him with more complex pieces. She suggests very useful books to complement his learning and is also helping him with his own compositions and to be creative. We are very grateful to have found Ms. Sheen to work with our son. She is an amazing piano teacher and a warm and caring individual and we're excited to continue with her!

For my son, We choose to learn Piano from the best Teacher Sheen, who is an outstanding piano teacher. She began teaching my Son when he was 6+ years old, and after 1+ years of lessons, We are extremely pleased with how well he plays the piano and understands music theory, hand position, dynamics and technique. Sheen makes learning piano fun and interesting for children by allowing them to choose some of their own contemporary pieces, and by using reward charts and prizes to give the kids a sense of accomplishment. Her teaching style is the perfect balance of friendly and encouraging, yet very professional with an emphasis on progress. She sets high expectations and inspires her students through her own love of music.
She is an amazing pianist herself and her love and dedication to music is apparent in her teaching. She has a very well rounded approach and includes theory lessons, performance classes, recitals, and competitions as part of her yearly curriculum. I would highly recommend Sheen to any student fortunate enough to work with her.

Alex has learned so much from Ms. Sheen the past year. We had trouble initially finding the right piano teacher for him, going through several teachers before discovering your ad in our local paper. Sheen is a very effective piano teacher. She has been teaching our kids piano for the last several years, and they have both greatly improved each year under her instruction. She does a fantastic job getting the kids to focus and listen during lessons. She also provides a challenging and consistent set of songs and assignments for them to learn in preparation for their development, festival and guild. Lastly, Ms. Sheen has also been very flexible throughout the years with scheduling and rescheduling lessons. We highly recommend her as a piano teacher!

Sheen is an exceptional music tutor. She has been teaching my son for more than 3 years now and he has progressed significantly in not only piano, but in his understanding of music as a whole. My son, Arnav Mathur, started his piano coaching under the guidance of Ms.Hsin a more than a couple of years (at the age of 6). Both me and my husband do not have any western music background.
Ms. Sheen, patiently worked with Arnav and taught him to read and write the musical notes. Right now, Arnav is very proficient in playing Piano and in reading and writing music. Arnav has qualified in National Auditions and National Roll for past couple of years. I'm very pleased with Ms. Sheen's approach to instilling piano lessons into her students and will highly recommend her for students with any music qualification.

Jacob is having a wonderful time playing the piano. He has been taking lessons from Ms. Sheen for a year and has already participated in several recitals, Music Festival, and Guild Auditions. These performances gave him a chance to display all that he had learned; for Guild he memorized ten pieces. The judges from these events made very nice comments about his arm/wrist ease and hand movements. I am impressed with the progress he has made during his first year.
Ms. Sheen has been able to blend her extensive piano knowledge with her ability to relate to children. Jacob really enjoys his lessons and he looks forward to selecting a small toy each week from Ms. Sheen's box of prizes. I wanted learning the piano to be a fun and rewarding experience for my son and he has had a great beginning.

As a parent of one of Ms. Sheen students, I believe that she is one of the best piano teachers my daughter has studied with. Her piano skills clearly demonstrate her superior knowledge of music.
Our daughter took piano lessons for 4 month prior to beginning lessons with Ms. last year. We are amazed at the growth she has demonstrated during these last three months!
Ms. Hsiao is a wonderful piano teacher. Her way of teaching is very impressive and her skills are by far the best. Not only has Ms.Sheen helped her to continue to improve her piano technique, but she also stresses to our 8 year old the importance of emotion and meaning behind the music. It has brought a whole new level of understanding and maturity to her performances.
Our daughter, has a long way to go still, but we believe Ms. Sheen is an excellent steward of her budding talent. Ms. Sheen is a great piano teacher, she requires that you leran not just put in the time. However, I believe the best compliment I can give to Ms. Sheen is that, she inspires our daughter. Regular piano practices occur with little parental prodding in our home. My daughter is eager to practice and have learned so much in a short period of time. We look forward to continuing our lessons for years to come!

My son(age 6) and daughter (age 5) first started playing the piano 2 years ago. Their first year was at a regular chain music studio. Here,though they learned how to do play music, there was no technique instruction and the lessons were not catered to the students needs. We moved to a private music studio, but the teacher had little experience with teaching young children.
At Sheen's piano studio, we have found everything we were looking for and both my son and daughter have benefited in many ways. To being with, Hsin has noticeable experience with young children. She understood their attention span and catered the lessons so that they could understand and easily pick up the salient points of the lesson.She placed focus on technique and proper piano positioning. Both my children have made significant improvements in sight reading (which they were not taught correctly for a whole year prior). But to top it off, the children have begun to enjoy playing the piano once again and only the best of teachers can instill that love in their students

Ms.Sheen teaches me many concepts of music from a variety of composers and each of their specific styles. She explains the technique of playing in a unique way which allows me to understand quickly and be able to enhance the music. Rather than just going through songs she teaches a wide range of music theory which help me understand music in general rather than just piano concepts. Ms.Sheen also teaches me about other forms of music such as jazz and blues and other genres. Furthermore I have not only played in class but have also played in recitals, in guild, and i am soon going to perform in festival. The class overall is fun and interesting and I have a learned a great deal in the time I have been with Ms Sheen.

My six year old son has been taking lessons from Ms.Sheen for over 6 months now. The progress he has made during his time with Ms. Sheen has far exceeded our expectations and has demonstrated to me what a wonderful piano teacher Ms. Sheen is. My son is an active boy and Ms. Sheen manages to stay patient with him and engage him fully in the learning process. He is not just learning to play. He is reading all of the notes on his own and is now composing his own music. She listens to things he is interested in learning and provides lessons accordingly. Ms.Sheen is a very kind, fun, positive, encouraging and patient teacher with my child Shriya. It's been close to 2 years with her. She is young, which helps a great deal in relating to kids and their sensibilities.
Also, she makes them perform for their regular recitals at Senior Sunrise Living/ old-age homes, which is great exposure for the kids, along with the noble act of entertaining some of our seniors. Other than performing for fun, she makes them participate competitively at the Spring Recital and the Guild exam, which is required for a more structured and serious approach towards learning piano.

I have been studying with Ms. Sheen for 4 years on the piano. When I first started with Ms.Sheen, I did not know how to read music but now I know how to identify notes on the treble and bass clef. she helped me prepare for the Spring Festival and Guild performances. I also have received an award from the Spring Festival. I enjoy playing recitals at nursing homes and it made them (the residents there) cheerful when they heard everyone's music. I have learned many things form Ms. Sheen's teaching. She showed me that piano is not only about the correct notes and chords- but it's about the feel you give to the piece. The dynamics and the way you roll your wrists are key in succeeding. She showed me the different types of memory, and is really working on my strategy and technique.
